All militaries have a right to access their AKO clothing record. The Clothing and individual Equipment Division is the G-4 staff proponent for policy, management analysis and Army wide process improvement in the areas of the Army Uniform Board, the Clothing Bag, OCIE Management and OCIE funding.
The responsibility of the ARMY Clothing and Individual Equipment (CIE) consists of personal/optional clothing items and organizational clothing and individual equipment (OCIE) items. In this case, the authorizations are included in Common Table Allowance (CTA) 50-900 and CTA 50-909.
Moreover, the Chief of Staff of the Army (CSA) is the Milestone Decision Authority (MDA) for personal clothing items. The Army Uniform Board (AUB) resolves any issues, provides information and makes recommendations for the CSA’s approval. Then, how would the military want to find their clothing records on AKO? Let’s see our post below!

How to Get the Best AKO Username?
You need to know that your AKO/DKO username is based off of your first and last names by using a period as a separator. For instance, when a user named Vincenzo Cassano registers for an AKO?DKO account, he will be given the username vincenzo.cassano if it is not already taken.
If your name is a common name, you probably have your middle initial, middle name or also numbers which can be included into your username. The user Vincenzo Cassano has a middle name of Delta. So, their possible username could be vincenzo.delta.cassano1.
If you need assistance in getting your username, don’t hesitate to contact the helpdesk. Well, you can locate their contact information on ‘How Do I Contact The AKO Service Desk’ page.
About AKO CIF
You have to go onto your AKO and print copies of your clothing record. To do that, you need to log into your AKO, choose the Self Service menu, select ‘My Clothing’, then scroll down and click on ‘Print Unsigned Clothing Record’ or you are able to go to your supply room.
In this case, they should have maintained a copy of your clothing record in your soldier issue file. Before going to CIF to submit your equipment, you have to separate what you PCS with and what you need to turn in. If you view your clothing record, on the top, far right hand side, there will be a column which is labeled PCS TRANS.
When you look down with the list of the items on your clothing record, you are going to see either the letter Y or N. Y here means that you take it with you to your next duty station. While N means that you turn it into CIF.
